Role Summary:
The Floating DME Coordinator is responsible for managing onsite setups for new PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) therapy patients and providing general Durable Medical Equipment (DME) resupply support . This hybrid role is for our Nashville facility.
Key Responsibilities:
DME Support and Patient Interaction:
- Perform in-person PAP setups, mask fittings, machine checks, patient re-education, and distribution of loaner equipment.
- Manage all warranty replacements and returned loaner equipment: ensure items are properly cleaned, tagged, and returned to inventory.
- Verify eligibility, confirm patient’s benefits, and provide estimates for resupply requested.
- Explain billing processes and patient financial responsibilities for resupply orders.
- Enter supply orders into relevant software systems to generate insurance claims.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HCPCS codes, billing frequencies, and applicable insurance guidelines.
Other general expectations of the role:
- Carefully adhere to HIPAA standards and procedures to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of our patients’ personal and medical information in every interaction.
- Understand and practice regulatory standards and organization policies and procedures including but not limited to: OSHA, infection control, and patient care policies and procedures.
- Expected hours are Mon – Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Return all patient telephone encounters within 24 hours of the entry time of the encounter
- Return all internal telephone encounters to ensure peers receive timely responses to requests.
